The View from Without

For a behaviourist like me, more or less, the central fact of The Self and Its Brain is the unquestioned assumption by Popper and Eccles that they know their own minds; that they, and we, have such a direct acquaintance with mind that its properties must be evident to anyone who will take a little care about considering it. It is assumed tacitly that we are aware of our awarenesses and in some sense
