Overview of computational intelligence [and biomedical engineering applications]

The emerging technology field called computational intelligence is described. Definitions of key terms are provided, followed by brief summaries of example applications, with an emphasis on those in the biomedical engineering field. Observations on the incorporation of computational intelligence methodologies into scientific areas are offered.
