Automatic Analog Model Generation For Behavioral Simulation

This paper describes a method to generate automatically, transient simulation models from a higher-level transfer function specification. The specified transfer function can be a ratio of nlh order polynomials in the s-domain or z-domain. An appropriate state-variable model is derived from the transfer functions using the phase-variable technique. The simulation models are generated for the AT&T Bell laboratories mixed-mode (analog-digital) behavioral simulator. The programs gensims and gensimz are developed to automatically generate the behavioral models for both the s-domain and z-domain respectively.
