A hypercomplex number-based approach to PolSAR image matching

Most of the current Polarimetrie synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR) image matching methods carry out matching process on single-channel images after the four-channel images are fused. They don't make use of polarization information in matching process. In this paper, a multi-channel joint matching method of PolSAR images using hypercomplex numbers is proposed, which carries out matching and fusing process at the same time and can take more use of polarization information to improve matching. In the experiments using multi-band PolSAR images, the proposed method all achieves more precise matching than SPAN-SIFT-OCT method.
