Eighth Australian Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Canberra, 13-17 November 1995

This proceedings contains more than 70 papers accepted by the Eighth Australian Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence. The theme of the conference is bridging the gap between symbolic and subsymbolic approaches to AI and the gap between theories and applications. The invited speakers include Professor Kenneth De Jong from George Mason University and Professor William Clancey from the Institute for Research on Learning. A wide variety of topics are covered by the papers, for example automated reasoning, knowledge representation and acquisition, machine learning, evolutionary computation and neural networks.
